Dear Prospective Teacher,

Thank you for your interest in the Transition to Teaching online Alternative  Licensure Program. This secondary math and science program is supported by a grant that pays $5,000 toward tuition and provides mentor support for individuals who agree to teach in one of Tennessee’s eligible high-need schools.

The coursework is provided online by the university of Tennessee at Martin. Candidates must secure a job and pass the Content Praxis II exam. If you are accepted into this program, you must agree to teach in a high need Tennessee public school for three consecutive years.

To qualify for the T2T program, you must have a degree in math or science or pass the Content Praxis II exam to verify content knowledge. You must obtain a teaching position in a middle or high school. You must also pass the PRAXIS II Exam in your content area (visit  www.ets.org/praxis for information about registration). The Biology exam is 0235, Math is 0061, Chemistry is 0245, and Physics is 0265.
